The front unit controls the trailer. And this makes the system extremely robust and reduces the number of different components.
The semi-trailer follows the truck’s track better and therefore requires less space when maneuvering around bends.
The trailer is also easier to maneuver and less friction is caused when taking a bend.
As a result of that reduction in friction, less energy is required leading to savings on fuel consumption and tyre wear.
The SEM mechanical rod steering system is available as a 1-rod or 2-rod system for one or two steerable axles.
