Strong together: SAF-HOLLAND impresses with all brands at the IAA

At this year's IAA Transportation, SAF-HOLLAND presented itself for the first time with all of its brands at a joint exhibition stand. Under the trade fair motto ‘SAF-HOLLAND for better Transportation’, the focus was on the three central themes of ‘More safety’, ‘More sustainability’ and ‘More partnership’. The Group addressed the greatest challenges facing the commercial vehicle industry and emphasised the importance of close cooperation within the various brands.

The joint appearance of all SAF-HOLLAND Group brands demonstrated how effectively the synergies between the brands are utilised.

According to Christoph Günter, President EMEA & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at SAF-HOLLAND, the close integration of the players in the Group (SAF, HOLLAND, Haldex, Assali Stefen, Axscend, GreenSteering, KLL, Neway, SEM, Tecma, V.Orlandi and York) is clearly noticeable at the IAA Transportation: ‘With our strong alliance, we have the best prerequisites for driving change in the transport industry. Together, we are working on solutions for connectivity, electrification and autonomous driving. Pooling our technological expertise enables us to develop even more efficient and innovative solutions,’ says Günter. SAF-HOLLAND has been cooperating with Haldex for years on the topic of disc brakes in the trailer sector. From the fourth quarter of 2024, one of the largest truck manufacturers will install these disc brakes in its trucks as standard.

More Safety through Original Products

SAF-HOLLAND presented the HOLLAND brand fifth wheel couplings under the motto ‘More safety’: With a visual safety indicator and an integrated locking mechanism, they ensure a safe connection between truck and trailer. The modular truck brake technology from Haldex, the ModulT system, was particularly impressive due to its considerable weight savings and cost benefits. The EB+ 4.0 trailer brake system from Haldex, which helps to reduce tyre failures and increase safety on the road by integrating a TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) gateway, was also in the spotlight.

Focus on Sustainability

Products such as the SAF TRAKr electric recuperation axle, which converts kinetic energy into electrical energy and thus contributes to a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, address the issue of sustainability. The electro-hydraulic steering system from VSE - with its low weight and optimised steering angle - also contributes to reduced fuel consumption. The biodegradable speciality lubricant HOLLAND RECOLUBE BIOPOWER SKX 023 lubricates fifth wheels in an environmentally friendly way.

Enthusiasm among Trade Fair Visitors

‘Visitors to the IAA Transportation were particularly impressed by the diversity and innovative strength of the products on show,’ emphasises Günter. The harmonious integration of the brands, the sophisticated safety solutions and the sustainable technologies met with great approval: ‘Our customers benefit from the expansion of the group of companies through a more extensive product portfolio and an expanded market presence in various regions.’
This will enable the company to respond more quickly and flexibly to customer needs in future and offer customised solutions from a single source.

Conclusion
