Key Aspects:
- A comprehensive approach: Haldex is developing from a pioneer for brake adjusters into a global supplier of integrated brake solutions with digital connectivity for trucks, buses and trailers.
- A powerful overall portfolio: With the ModulT, Haldex offers a weight-optimised compressed-air disc brake, while the EB+ 4.0 and an innovative software management system create the basis for the connected trailers of the future.
- Strong synergies in the Group: The integration into the SAF-HOLLAND Group makes it possible to offer a comprehensive one-stop shop for suspension and brake systems, allowing customers to benefit from expanded technological resources, an established ser-vice network and additional development capacities.
“We position ourselves not only as a manufacturer of individual brake com-ponents, but as a provider of comprehensive brake systems with digital con-nectivity for trucks, buses and trailers,” stresses Alexander Kraus, Senior Commercial Product Manager at SAF-HOLLAND. “This allows us to support vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators in managing system complexity while improving performance and service efficiency.”
Core competency with global relevance
In the field of brake adjusters, Haldex has been a leading supplier since the 1960s and has continued developing its products based on this longstanding experience. With the Haldex AA1, the company offers an automatic adjuster that ensures consistent break clearance under varying operating conditions, supporting reliable brake performance over time.
The Haldex S-ABA (self-setting automatic brake adjuster) underlines the company’s pioneering role in this segment. Equipped with an electronic brake pad wear sensor, it contributes to improved maintenance planning, while its self-adjusting control arm simplifies installation and greatly reduces the risk of incorrect settings.
Efficiency, lightweight design and ease of service in a single system
With the ModulT compressed-air disc brake, Haldex addresses the growing need for efficiency and optimisation in transport operations. The single-tappet design reduces system weight and minimises the number of wear parts, sup-porting lower maintenance complexity and helping to reduce operating costs over the vehicle lifecycle. An integrated adjuster unit automatically compen-sates brake pad wear, contributing to consistent braking performance and reduced service interventions.
Digital solutions for the trailers of the future
As part of the digital transformation, Haldex is continuously expanding its portfolio with intelligent software solutions for modern trailers. With its modu-lar structure, the EB+ 4.0 electronic brake system enables integration of ad-ditional brake, safety and comfort functions, enabling manufacturers to adapt systems to different vehicle requirements.
Additionally, a software update management system (SUMS) ensures reliable and compliant management of the increasingly software-controlled vehicle systems. For fleet operators, this means more transparency and more effi-cient service processes. Haldex is therefore laying the foundation for future-proof connected trailer solutions.
Synergies from a strong alliance
Part of the SAF-HOLLAND Group since 2023, Haldex benefits from expanded technological resources, an established service network and additional de-velopment capacities. The product portfolios of both companies mesh togeth-er seamlessly, offering customers a comprehensive one-stop shop for sus-pension and brake systems.
At the same time, the Group’s global service network and aftermarket capa-bilities contribute to consistent service processes across regions, while the close alignment of research and development activities supports the efficient introduction of new technologies.
“The integration within SAF-HOLLAND enables us to bring innovations to market maturity faster while offering our customers consistent, efficient solu-tions from a single source,” explains Kraus.
